Emax cricket fans performed ritual hawan for Indian Cricket Team

In the midst of high excitement for Cricket World Cup all around, Emax Cricket fans performed a ritual ‘Havan’ for the victory of Team India. The two hour Havan started with great enthusiasm with Mantra Uchcharan and Shabad (sacred chants).The pandit was called to pray for victory of the Indian Cricket Team. The students not only sang Bhajans during the Havan but also read mantras “India World Cup Jeet Ke Aao” to complete the rituals. During the Havan the campus was echoed with the mantras and slogans like “ Chak De India”, “ Jeeto India Jeeto” etc. Beside the cricket fans of the college Pardeep Aggarwal General Secretary, Rajiv Bansal Finance Secretary, Dr. Baljeet Kapoor Director General, Rajiv Nayyar Director Sports, Praveen Sharma Media Manager and Sunil Arya, Training and placement officer were also participated in the Havan Puja happened at the College Campus.

Chairman of the college Om Prakash Aggarwal said that the World Cup is on its way and definitely we all Indians want India to win the title. He said that World Cup Cricket is a chance for us to celebrate cricket and to promote sports culture within the youth. His message for the Indian Cricket Team is “Second to none, bring home the Cup.“Pradeep Aggarwal said that their love for Cricket was always seen as college is coming up with a all facility cricket ground soon. Hope the team shows excellent play and wins the pride for India.

Rajiv Nayyar Director Sports said that he hoped Indian team would be able win this prestigious cup. He said that we decided to do this because our Emax cricket team members are real cricket fans and genuinely wanted to do something positive to promote sports in the institute.

World Record holder designated as Director Sports in Emax

Rajiv Nayyar, World Record holder for batting over 1000 minutes is designated as Director Sports in Emax Group of Institutions here today. This right-handed batsman hit the headlines in November 1999 when he batted for 1015 minutes in scoring 271 for Himachal Pradesh, who he was captaining. It was the longest first-class innings of all time, eclipsing Hanif Mohammad's 970-minute 337 made against West Indies in 1957-58. He compiled 7000 runs in his career. Nayyar hit 20 centuries and 32 half centuries at an average of 44.97 in 96 first class matches. Rajeev hails from District Chamba and played for Una district for 18 years. Despite his creditable performance, Nayyar, did not get a chance to represent India in Test matches or One-day internationals. The year 1999 was a golden year for him as he scored 952 runs in eight matches with an average of 68. He scored four centuries and got second position in batting in India in first class matches. Rajeev is the first Himachal player to have played for Minor County in England for a record time of 10 years. Rajeev Nayyar was instrumental in North Zone victory in Duleep Trophy in 1999. He scored 102 against Central Zone, 92 against Central Zone and 120 against West Zone. Rajeev (105 not out) had a record fifth-wicket partnership for 381 runs with Varinder Sehwag (276) against South Zone.
Rajeev has played for India A against South Africa at Nagpur in 1996. He was a member of India B team in Challenger Trophy the same year. Three years later, he was selected in the Board President's XI against New Zealand in Jaipur.

Addressing the students on very first day Nayyar said that students would benefit from playing sports because it motivates them to perform well in education, encourages important life skills and provides scholarship opportunities. He also said that participating in sports can help a student increase their grades and attendance. He assured students that soon there will be much more sports activities in emax Campus. To promote sports in emax he declared that special marks will be given to students who will show best performances in sports.

Congratulating Nayyar Chairman of Emax Om Prakash Aggarwal said that sports play a vital role in the makeup of a young engineer and manager, especially in the college years where students are much more mature and mentally developed. He said that sports plays an important role in charter building of students and many qualities can be inculcated and developed in young students by involving them in various sports activities.

Rajiv Bansal, Finance Secretary was also present on the occasion. He congratulated the students and said that soon a Cricket Club will be inaugurated in the College. Director General Dr. Baljeet Kapoor said that students who were involved in sports also performs well in academics because sports helps us to learn various qualities like discipline , teamwork, responsibility, self confidence and accountability.

International Mother Language Day celebrated at E-max


International Mother Language Day was celebrated in E-max Group of Institutions to encourage linguistic and cultural variety. Various ideas about promoting the mother language were discussed in a very live interactive session of the speakers with the students. On this occasion Foreign Language club has been inaugurated by Om Prakash Aggarwal Chairman of the College.

The Ceremony commenced with lighting of Lamp followed by formal welcome address by Director General Dr. Baljeet Kapoor of the College. Over 200 students of various disciplines were present on the occasion. Besides the external Speakers faculty members and other directors of the College were also present.

Native Russian Citizen Anna Sizova from Moscow State University and Usha Dogra, Experienced German Language Expert and Dipin Dhingra Centre Manager from Dell were amoung the speakers of the day.

Anna Sizova said that Intercultural understanding begins with individuals who have language abilities and who can thereby provide one's own nation or community with an insider's view into foreign cultures, who can understand foreign news sources, and give insights into other perspectives on international situations and current events. For survival in the global community, every nation needs such individuals.

Usha Dogra said that as globalization and mobility and communications are bring the world ever closer together, ever more urgent is the need for global citizens to be competent in other languages.

Inaugurating the Foreign Language Club Chairman of E-max said that strategies to promote language learning and hold up language diversity needs to be formulated. He said that in the era of globalization it has become necessary for Management Students to know at least the basics of some of the most spoken foreign languages. He said that person competent in other languages can bridge the gap between cultures, contribute to international diplomacy, promote national security and world peace, and successfully engage in international trade.

Inauguration of Youth Club PRAYAS at E-max

Stanzin, Programme Manager of Commonwealth Youth Programme – Asia Centre inaugurated Youth Club called “PRAYAS – Platform for Rebuilding Active Youth And Students” at E-max Group of Institutions. Subir Dass, Project Intern CYP from Bangladesh and Dr. Chandan Awasthi from Panjab University were the other speakers on the occasion. The Ceremony commenced with lighting of Lamp followed by formal welcome address by Om Prakash Aggarwal, Chairman of E-max Group of Institutions. Over 300 students of various disciplines were present on the occasion. Besides the dignitaries from Commonwealth, Vice Chairman Prithvi Raj Bansal, Director General Dr. Baljeet Kapoor and other directors of the College were also present.

Inaugurating the Youth Club PRAYAS, Stanzin said that Youth Empowerment is very much required for the growth of Nation and World. He briefed about the various programmes run by Commonwealth Youth Centre and congratulated management for showing interest in Youth Development Issues.

The Commonwealth of Nations is an intergovernmental organization of fifty-four independent member states. The symbol of their free association is the Head of the Commonwealth, which is a ceremonial position currently held by Queen Elizabeth II.

The six core values of the Youth Club “PRAYAS” will be Activating Leadership, Demonstrating Integrity, Living Diversity, Enjoying Participation, Striving for Excellence and Acting Sustainably. The five key principles of “PRAYSA” will be Taking an Active Role (main goal: proactive behaviour), Developing Self-Awareness and Personal Vision (assuming responsibility), Increasing Capacity (learning theory and applying it in practice), Building a Network (networking) and Challenging Worldview (holistic world view).

Chairman of the college Om Prakash Aggarwal said that PRAYAS’s goal is to create a more knowledgeable, compassionate, skilled, and understanding generation of citizens while at the same time inspiring youth to take effective action for better tomorrow. He said that it will provide a common platform to the student members to exchange ideas and information on the topics of their interest.

Inauguration of T&P and Media Department at E-max

A full fledged Training & Placement Department and Department of Media Affairs is inaugurated at E-max Group of Institutions. The programme commenced with ribbon cutting by Om Prakash Aggarwal, Chairman of E-max. Besides all directors General Secretary Pradeep Aggarwal &
Finance Secretary Rajiv Bansal was also present on the occasion. Er. Sunil Arya will be heading the Training and Placement Department and Praveen Sharma will be heading the department of media affairs.

Chairman of the College addressing the students and faculty members gave assurance that department of Training and Placement will provide the best possible placements to all the eligible students in MNCs and other reputed companies. Speaking to the media persons he said that his main motto is to build engineers and managers having ethical values. He said that e-max is giving special stress to inculcate ethical values in students so that they can participate in National Growth.

He told that E-max is in process of tying up with various MNCs and they have agreed to visit the campus in upcoming days. He also announced a suitable fee concession for meritorious diploma students of E-max, who are taking admission in B.Tech.

Department of Training and Placement will be responsible for Training and placement of the students in the industry or other user system, Industry Institute Interaction, Arranging Industrial visits of students, To arrange for the placement of the students through campus interviews, To arrange for expert lecturers, To handle alumni affairs, To monitor the working of alumni association, To sponsor students for various paper presentations and the Technical exhibitions, To arrange in service training program of the teachers, To arrange entrepreneurship camps and to motivate the students for self employment, To arrange programmes for guidance and counseling of the students and to arrange classes for personality development of students.

Department of Media Affairs will be responsible for Coordinating with Electronic and print media during various events and activities of the College.

Effort to bring Basant for Street Kids by E max

E max Group of Institutes celebrated Basant Panchami with fervour and enthusiasm in a unique way by making an effort to bring Basant in Street Children’s Life. The children aged between 6 to 14 years from the slums, streets and resettlement colonies of the surrounding areas were given a day to cherish with bright color kites and dresses. The aim of the effort is to create an atmosphere to ensure their rehabilitation as productive members of society The Yellow Day was celebrated in different parts of Chandigarh, Panchkula, Ambala and surrounding areas by flying kites and distributing sweets to Street Kids. The skies were resplendent with kites of all colours and sizes. The objective behind the initiative is to bring such children out of deprived circumstances, who will in turn not only build a dignified future but also be a part of the prosperity of our society in long run.

The social welfare club “Together we Grow” of Emax is encouraging the uneducated youth living in slum and Juggis to adopt the professions to earn money and not to beg for their living. With kites flying high and the students dressed smart in yellow a kite-flying competition was held amongst Street Kids.

Chairman of the Institute Om Prakash Aggarwal appreciated the efforts of the staff and said that such social celebrations bring everyone across the spectrum together. He said that it is the duty of every citizen to provide education, basic healthcare and nutritional support to underprivileged children of the society so that they can contribute towards the development of the country.
