Emax campaigns on Anti Child Labour Day



Emax Education College organized a series of activities to generate awareness against child labour on Anti Child Labour Day. A team was formed under the guidance of Ms. Kuldeep Kaur to visit various places of nearby Villages of College. Various areas and activities where the frequency of the child labors is more are identified. Awareness campaign in various activity areas like Bricks Bhatta, Street kids were organized.

I have no idea what child labour day means. Yes, I want to go to school and study but my father is no more. So I have to work with my mother here the whole day to earn some money to help run the house," Rajan, a Child labour working on a brick kiln told Students.

Pradeep Aggarwal General Secretary of E-Max Group of Institutions appreciate the B.Ed. Faculty members and students, who organised such type of event and aware the parents of child labour. He said that Poverty is widely considered the as the top reason why these children take up inappropriate jobs for their ages. The parents of child labourers are often unemployed or underemployed. A lot many times, the family expectations and traditions force the children into jobs. Other reasons for the systematic inclusion of this tiny little labour brigade include child abuse, lack of good education, public opinion that downplays the risk of early work for children and uncaring attitudes of employers.

College Finance Secretary Rajiv Bansal congratulate the organizing team and said that on Anti-Child Labour Day, everyone should take a pledge to help at least one child worker around them. He said that resourceful people of society should come forward to include low socio-economic families in main stream of the society, so that the evils like Child Labour can be discarded from the country.

Two Days Workshop on Cyber Security & Cyber forensic stressed


A two-day Workshop on 'Cyber Security and Forensic' was imparted to the students of computer science and electronics branches at Emax Institute of Engineering and Technology. Renowned ethical hacker and cyber security guru Gaurav Pawar delivered workshop on ethical hacking. At least 500 young engineers attended the Workshop in which Gaurav unfolded the intricacies of the Web and underlined the importance of ethical hacking. He explained that an ethical hacker is a computer and network expert who attacks a security system on behalf of its owners, seeking vulnerabilities that a malicious hacker could exploit. He elaborated that an ethical hacker is required in an organisation to test a security system, and report problems instead of taking advantage of them. Highlighting the dangers that lurked in the use of Web, he said any Internet user could be a tragic victim of hacking unless they were careful. He cited an example of a Mumbai woman who fell prey to hackers while chatting for hours on Facebook without taking any precautions. Her day-to-day life was uploaded live on the Internet.

He demonstrated ways of accessing blocked sites in college systems and the difficulties faced by college authorities in preventing misuse. Gaurav gave demonstrations on unravelling the IP address of any computer, importance of keeping the IP address safe, use of anonymiser to hack into any system, role of Internet proxy servers and types of services available on the Web to overcome restrictions imposed by Internet proxy servers. He also touched upon the aspect of terrorists and other criminals hacking into systems of security agencies. He also highlighted the importance of computer’s MAC address and the ways of protecting it. He demystified trojans, showing how these could cause damage and ways to stay safe from hackers who used trojans. He asked students to learn computer security techniques and tools of ethical hacking. He also spoke about the nefarious activities of cyber criminals and suggested some techniques to Internet users to keep themselves secure from such dangers.

Director General of Emax Dr. Baljeet Kapoor delivered the welcome address. He expressed concern over the increasing trend of cyber crime and the steps needed to prevent it. He emphasised that Internet users must use precautionary measures for safe use and hiding identity. Chairman, Om Prakash Aggarwal motivated the students to get advanced training in ethical hacking and cyber security to become entrepreneur consultants. The students said such seminars were need of the hour.

Dr. Baljeet Kapoor of Emax awarded Vigyan Rattan by Governor of Punjab

Hon'ble Governor of Punjab and Administrator of Chandigarh Shivraj Vishwanath Patil honored Dr. Baljeet Kapoor, Vice Chancellor Designate and ad interim Director General of Emax Group of Institutions in a function organized by All India Technical & Management Association (AITMA) in CII, Chandigarh here today. Dr. Kapoor received Vigyaan Ratan for his special contribution in the field of science and technology and his outstanding contribution in the field of technical education during last four decades.

During his career of around four decades, Dr. Baljeet Kapoor has earned accolades and credentials of being an eminent academician and scholar. An astute techno manager and a hard task master with such a sterling merit as few can match; has to his credit 112 quality research publications; is an acknowledged author of several praiseworthy books, has guided number of M.E. & PhD theses. Dr. Baljeet Kapoor vision and missionary zeal to serve society especially the “Have Nots” has been acknowledged and; thus has been conferred with Thirty four National/International awards; has-had innumerable Firsts to his credit – Having topped Haryana PWD, P.H.Deptt. (Selections through HPSC in 1971) was responsible for the survey work of Panchkula Township and its initiation. Set up the P.G Deptt. for environmental Engineering at Punjab Engineering. College and started the PG Course; was the first Environmental Engineer to be the Director Princiapl of CRSCE Murthal and during his short stint therein left an indelible impression which paved the path to its becoming of a state University. He was the first alumni of PEC to be elevated to be its principal through UPSC – a coveted achievement. PEC became the Deemed University during his tenure and he was the first Director Ad interim. Chandigarh College of Engineering and Technology under the aegis of Chandigarh Administration has been set up by him. The technical education policy of catering for the down trodden but meritorious alongwith the encompassing people with Disability was envisaged, initiated and established successfully by him. Owing to his perseverance SLIET like pattern has become a practical reality. Book Exhibation on World Book Day at E-Max Group


Emax Group of Institutions celebrated World Book Day by organizing a Book Exhibition in the college campus. A huge exhibition of books was organized by various publishers of the north India and various religious, creative and inspirational books were exhibited. Books like autobiographies of various leaders like Jawaharlal Nehru, Mahatma Gandhi, Nelson Mandela along with the novels of Premchand, Bhartendu Harishchand and Haribansh Rai Bacchan were some of the books that attracted the students of all branches of the college.

The Book Exhibition was inaugurated by General Secretary Pradeep Aggarwal & Finance Secretary Rajiv Bansal of the college by cutting the ribbon. Addressing the students he said that in this era of competition the students should read more newspapers and stay updated. The book Exhibition was coordinated by Training & Placement Officer Sunil Arya of the college along with Praveen Sharma, Media Manager. A interactive session was also held in the college to discuss the various ways to improve reading habits among the students. More than 200 students visited the book Exhibition . During the exhibition General Secretary Pradeep Aggarwal, Finance Secretary Rajiv Bansal of E-Max Group, Dr. Arun Chauhan, Principal of Emax Education College, Dr. Satish Kumar, Kuldeep Kaur, Media Manager Praveen Sharma, Training and placement officer Sunil Arya, Anmol Gautam were present with students and other faculty members.

General Secretary of the college Pradeep Aggarwal appreciated the organizer of this event and said that despite books in their curriculum, inspirational and spiritual books are also required as they are very much required for the overall development of the students.

Earth Day Celebration at E-Max Education College



E Max Group of Institutions celebrated Earth day by organizing various awareness campaigns against increasing global warming and other issues related to climate change. More than 100 students along with faculty members participated in the slogan writing competition organized in which various topics like saving trees, minimizing plastic use, using paper intelligently etc. Four teams were formed in the guidance of Vibha and Kuldeep Kaur, which campaigned and educated farmers of the region about ill effects of burning husk of paddy fields. Farmers were told by means of visual charts how the burning of left over husk will cause air pollution but also make the soil unfertile.

A poster, slogan and essay writing completion was also organized by Education College of Emax. Dr. B.S Jaiswal, Director of the college was the Chief Guest and Judge of the completion. Rajni Rani stood first and Ravi stood second in the poster making competition. Ravi and Jaimal singh were adjacent first and second respectively n the slogan writing completion. Winners of the completion were awarded by the Chairman of the College.

Vice Chairman P.R. Bansal, General Secretary Pradeep Aggarwal, Finance Secretary Rajiv Bansal, Director B.S Jaiswal, Dr. S.K. Singh Principal Education College, Training and placement officer Sunil Arya, Media Manager Praveen Sharma were present during the function.

Chairman of the College Om Prakash Aggarwal appreciated the students and faculty members for showing their concern about the environment. He told every student to plant at least one tree on his birthday. He also urged students to minimize the use of polythene

24 Students Selected from E-Max in Job Fest “ELECTROMENIA-2012”



One day Job Fest “Electro Menia-2012” was organized by the Emax group of institutions exclusively for the candidates of Electronics B.Tech, Diploma and B.Sc of the region wherein more than 298 candidates from various colleges of north India participated. Prominent among the companies which participated in the fest were RTS, ETCO Digital Pvt. Ltd., EmbEX. The competitive spirit of students came to fore as a large number of participants came to appear for interviews. After the online tests, Technical Interviews and HR Interviews finally 24 Candidates were given offer letters. The selected candidates will be joining as Asst. Engineers – Testing and Quality Control and Jr. engineer – Project Development.

Company’s representatives expressed satisfaction on the quality of the students and wished them a bright future ahead and assured to visit again for selection of more students from Emax Group of Institutions. Rajiv Bansal, Secretary Finance of the Emax Group emphasized the importance of making use of such opportunities. College student Anjali said the job fest provided a platform for students to have a taste of corporate employability. Pradeep Aggarwal, General Secretary of the College thanked the officials of the company and stressed upon the students to work with a clear vision and focus to succeed in the highly competitive scenario. 12 MBA Students selected in HDFC & Birla Sun life Insurance from E-Max


A Campus placement drive for MBA Students was organized by HDFC Standard Life Insurance and Birla Life Insurance Co. Ltd. The process started with a pre-placement talk by the officials of the Company. This was followed by Group Discussion Round. Students selected in Group Discussions appeared for the final HR interviews. Finally 12 students were selected and will start their career as Sales Manager with package of 2.50 lacs

73 Candidates selected in Emax “Bits & Bytes”



An impressive two days Mega Job Fest “Bits & Bytes” was organized by the Emax group of institutions exclusively for the Computer Science, IT and MCA candidates of region wherein more than 330 candidates from various colleges of north Indiaparticipated. Prominent among the companies which participated in the fest were Solution Beyond Software, A-One Technology, Allumez Infotech, Bytes Infotech .17 students of the emax group of institutions and 57 students from other colleges were recruited for different posts at handsome packages by the companies. A-One Technology conducted written tests and GD round in the campus before short listing them for HR and technical rounds. 99 MBA Students selected in “MANAGEMENT QUEST” from Emax





A 2 days Mega Job Fest “Management Quest” organised by Emax Group of Institutes concluded here today with total selections of 99 candidates from different colleges of the region. In this fair 680 MBA & BBA students registered and attend the placement drive. After all rounds of selection processes finally 99 MBA students were selected.

In this fest many corporates like Angel Broking Ltd., Ind Swift Labs, Bharat Infradevelopers, Edelwiess, HCL Info systems, RKF Web world, DLF pramecia, India Mart, Edelweiss, Vodafone, Money Ambit, Insat Techno Services, Techno Campus etc visited the campus for picking up bright Manager & Officers. The selection process of the companies varies from company to company. Finally 99 MBA students were selected after the personal interviews. The selected students would be drawing yearly salary from Rs.1.20 lacs to Rs.4.00 lacs per annum.

The Officials of the companies expressed satisfaction on the quality of the students and wished them a bright future ahead. The lively college campus, the enthusiastic students, the modern laboratories impressed the visiting company officials.
