Emax campaigns on Anti Child Labour Day



Emax Education College organized a series of activities to generate awareness against child labour on Anti Child Labour Day. A team was formed under the guidance of Ms. Kuldeep Kaur to visit various places of nearby Villages of College. Various areas and activities where the frequency of the child labors is more are identified. Awareness campaign in various activity areas like Bricks Bhatta, Street kids were organized.

I have no idea what child labour day means. Yes, I want to go to school and study but my father is no more. So I have to work with my mother here the whole day to earn some money to help run the house," Rajan, a Child labour working on a brick kiln told Students.

Pradeep Aggarwal General Secretary of E-Max Group of Institutions appreciate the B.Ed. Faculty members and students, who organised such type of event and aware the parents of child labour. He said that Poverty is widely considered the as the top reason why these children take up inappropriate jobs for their ages. The parents of child labourers are often unemployed or underemployed. A lot many times, the family expectations and traditions force the children into jobs. Other reasons for the systematic inclusion of this tiny little labour brigade include child abuse, lack of good education, public opinion that downplays the risk of early work for children and uncaring attitudes of employers.

College Finance Secretary Rajiv Bansal congratulate the organizing team and said that on Anti-Child Labour Day, everyone should take a pledge to help at least one child worker around them. He said that resourceful people of society should come forward to include low socio-economic families in main stream of the society, so that the evils like Child Labour can be discarded from the country.
