Female Foeticide hits desk during Global Human Rights Day celebrations at Emax






Hundreds of participants, including women and youth groups, students, community leaders, native administration and local authorities joined on the global celebration of Human Rights Day under the slogan "My Voice Counts" held at Emax Group of Institutions. The Day was marked with several events including dances, traditional songs and drama.
Various schools of Haryana participated in the function with their drama scripts based on topics like Female Foeticide, Sexual Harassment at work place, Domestic Violence, Immoral Trafficking, Child Labour etc.  Jubilant teams of Cygnus High School, Ambala and Army Public School Ambala presented their eye-opening plays on female foeticide and decreasing sex ratio in Haryana.  Emax School Principal Tejinder  Pal Kaur & vice Principal Dilbaag Singh welcomed the Guests and School teams during the function.  Scripted Play on Female Foeticide highlighting the importance of women in society was awarded first prize. 
Ashok Bector, Chairman of Universal Human Rights Organization who was the Chief Guest during function expressed appreciation to the people for joining in the celebration of Human Rights Day, which is important for enlightening the community on their rights which are also included in the Indian Constitution. According to Bector’s statement, millions of people have taken to the streets over the past few years, demanding civil, political, economic, social or cultural rights, and asking for their right to participate fully in important decisions and policies affecting their daily lives. The UN Secretary-General's message reiterated that everyone has the right to be heard and to shape the decisions that affect their community. "International law is clear: No matter whom you are, or where you live, your voice counts.
K.C. Badhwar, Vice President of Universal Human Rights organization, who was the guest of honour during the function, said that the empowerment of women and members of other weaker sections will only come through education- not the bookish kind but the knowledge that empowers. It is not only the duty of government alone to impart this knowledge but of all organisations and individuals that want to protect human rights. Chairman of Emax Group Om Prakash Aggarwal said that emax joined the world in celebrating the common value for human dignity for every person and announced that soon emax will be running campaigns against female foeticide and child labour.
The students who were awarded for their plays during the function were Manisha, Pushkar, Tamanna, Simran, Mahima, Ninal Keshav from Cygnus High School; Dhruv from Army Public School and Savita , Manpreet and Rahul from Emax International School.
