150th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda Celebrated by sharing books and information of Swami ji

The Emax Group of Institutions celebrated the birthday of Swami Vivekanand as National Youth Day here today by organizing a function on the college campus. Students and staff of the college paid tributes to Swamiji. Students and Staff held a programme that began with lighting of the ceremonial lamp by chief guest Om Prakash Aggarwal, CMD of the Institute. Students of the college went to slum students to distribute books and share experience, knowledge and information about Swami ji. The students expressed their views through very inspiring speeches and self-composed poems. Mohit Singh, third year engineering student spoke on “Youth — The Dream of New World”. Karan presented self-composed poems “Youth” and “New Revolution”. Through these speeches and poems, speakers appealed to the students to come forward to put an end to all evils prevalent in our society so that our dream of happy, prosperous and peaceful nation may be converted into reality.

The students of Emax College of Education presented a group song-”Ekta ke swar milkar jab khiley, jhoomey gagan, gay pawan, karvan chaley”. The programme was organised by youth club Prayas of the institute.

 “We as the volunteers of the youth club prayas are privileged enough to share our experiences and knowledge with those who are deprived. We don’t conduct schools for the slum kids, but often volunteer in basic studies. We interact with them and share the dogmas and philosophies of Vivekanand, while inspiring them to attain a respectful life in future by studying and working,” said Raman, a volunteer.

Om Prakash Aggarwal, CMD of the institute urged the students to utilise their potential to the maximum and key to unlock it was awareness. He also asked the students to imbibe the qualities of discipline, courage and work diligently to uplift the country. He said teachings of Swamiji was still relevant though he left the world 150 years ago. He termed service to fellow human as service to God. He reminisced the idealistic approach of Swami Vivekanand.

Chairman PR Bansal said the mission of Swami Vivekananda was to make India hunger free, to awaken its cultural values, abolish untouchability and to live in harmony.He said, “Swami Vivekanand stands as a role model for the coming generations in various respects. The path laid by him inspired many young people and great leaders. His work and knowledge is an ideal inspiration for the youth to achieve greater things in life.”

Managing Director Pradeep Aggarwal said youths could do wonders if guided properly. “We need to teach the youth about moral, cultural, and spiritual values in human life. It is for this reason, Swami Vivekanand’s birthday has been declared as the National Youth Day by the Government of India,” he said.

Awareness Campaign on Road Safety Week in E-Max

In connection with celebration of Road Safety Week Emax Group of Institutions organized an awareness camp in which over 100 drivers and conductors of matadors and buses participated. The faculty members and students advised and educated the drivers and conductors to strictly observe the traffic rules as to avoid road mishaps and also the inconvenience to the passengers. The prime intention of the program is to create road sense that helps people to keep them safe on roads. The participants were asked to avoid overloading, avoiding drunken driving, rash driving, using tape recorders, smoking, and picking up and dropping the passengers at places other than the stops.

Awareness for two-wheelers and awareness about Emergency Trauma Care was also spread by organizing a rally. Retd. Major Mishra, Estate Officer at Emax Group of Institutions presented helmets to drivers of two wheelers who were driving without helmet. He said that the purpose of Road Safety Week is to make people understand the importance of Road safety. Awareness about the First Aid required at the time of accident was also given to the drivers.

Om Prakash Aggarwal, CMD Emax Group said that road an accident kills faster than any other disease. He said that lakhs of persons get killed or severely injured every year in roads accident causing loss of human life as well as loss of property. These lives can be saved and accidents can be avoided by awareness of road safety norms.

Chairman PR Bansal said that the Road Safety Programme organized by the Emax, aims to inform the public and thereby raise its awareness to traffic and safety problems. On the basis of key target groups, such as drivers and college students, this initiative aims to cover all of society.

Oil conservation stressed during Oil Conservation week in E-Max

Students pedal their way to promote oil conservation

Students from Emax Group of Institutions took out a bicycle rally to mark the ongoing ‘Oil Conservation Week’. The rally was organised by youth club PRAYAS of Emax Institutes to propagate ‘Conservation of Oil and Gas. The rally was led by Dr. B.S.Jaswal, Director Computer Application.  He also administered an oath to the students towards energy conservation. The students carrying placards on bicycles with the message of oil and gas conservation went around various places. A human chain was also formed by the students. Various posters were displayed and distributed giving useful tips to drivers, housewives and industrialists for the conservation of petroleum products. The main aim during the week was to kindle the interest of the general public in the conservation of the petroleum products.

Addressing the students after the rally, Dr. jaswal said that people need to travel, but most of them can travel around easily with their own means ie by cycling and walking. Both are cheap, quick, quiet and clean, he said. He also said these activities will be continued so as to create a mass movement for conservation.

CMD of the institute Om Prakash Aggarwal reminded the gathering that fossil fuel would get exhausted in a matter of few decades and thus conservation was the need of the hour. He said oil conservation must get into our habit and only public sensitisation stood as the most effective means to achieve conservation goals.

While addressing a gathering, Chairman of the Institute PR Bansal said, “The availability of petroleum products is limited and as such these should be used carefully. India has to depend on other nations for petroleum products and this adversely affects the economy of our country. By using these carefully, we will not only be able to control our resources, but also check pollution.” He said with country’s dependency over imported petroleum products increasing as high as 70 per cent, the importance to save oil has assumed paramount significance.

Pradeep Aggarwal, Managing Director of the institute emphasized the role of children in the conservation of oil for the future. He stressed the need for sustainable development and conservation of the precious oil products.

Two Emax Students won bronze at National Taekwondo Championship

Two Engineering students of Emax Institute of Engineering and Technology Mohit Singh and Amit Kumar won bronze medial for Haryana in 57-63 kg category at the 32nd National Taekwondo Championship for Senior, Junior, Sub-Junior & PEE-WEE Male & Female 2012 recently concluded during last week of December at Amritsar, Punjab. Taekwondo Federation of India (TFI), Taekwondo Academy of India and the Korean Martial Art Taekwondo Academy were the Joint Organizers of the Championship. The Championship was organized for open weight category from each State Association & Academy and over 350 Candidates from Different states of India Participated.

"I got to know about taekwondo training from one of my friends. So, I contacted the trainer and he agreed to teach me," said Mohit Singh, a mechanical engineering student from emax , is looking forward for an opportunity to contest in an  National tournament.

The institute is planning to provide a platform to Mohit & Amit to participate in National & International competitions once they attain formal educations and training. "Amit became a good taekwondo performer within one year of training. With further practice his performance would improve. His interest in learning taekwondo was amazing and he learnt it very well. " said Director Sports Rajiv Nayyar.

"Taekwondo is one of the disciplines played in Olympics too. Some of the inspired Engineering  students from emax and especially from Haryana are improving their performance in this form of martial arts," said Om Prakash Aggarwal CMD of Emax Institutes. Chairman PR Bansal appreciated the efforts of the students and said that he has brought fame to the institution by bagging  bronze in National Championship.

College management organised a felicitation function to honour the champion, wherein CMD Om Prakash Aggarwal, Chairman PR Bansal, Managing Director Pardeep Aggarwal, Finance Secretary Rajiv Bansal felicitated the student for making the institution proud.

Poor distributed woolen clothes under ‘Vastra Arpan’ in E-Max

With the increasing cold wave in the northern region, the member of Youth Club “Paryas” of E-max Group of Institutions has started campaign for  warm clothes distribution to the cold affected poor people of the district to mitigate their sufferings. A program to give out winter coats and blankets was initiated with help from faculty and students. The community outreach initiative, entitled “Vastra Arpan – Denote your clothes for Charity,” begins. During the campaign winter clothing being collected from public  and distributed to poor across the region. Student coordinators have pledged to provide over 500 winter clothing items to those less fortunate. Activists of the institute under its Warm Clothes Distribution Project collected old warm clothes from the different areas of Ambala, Chandigarh and Panchkula & distributed those among poor people .

The E-max Institutes launched this campaign to provide winter clothes to poor families living

under open sky in cold weather. People donated old clothes, woolens, blankets for the poor. The clothes were collected at three collection centres each at Chandigarh, Ambala  &  Panchkula.

President of Youth Club Paryas Sunil Arya  said that used clothes are not really importance to medium people in our society but it is very important to poorest of the poor and vulnerable people because their livings are based on daily profit and they have no part of reserve money for buying new or used clothes to wear. We interviewed some poorest of the poor and vulnerable families they reported us that most clothes they have they got from contributors 95 per cent. During this social recreation activity for students of emax,they packaged used clothes into bags and accompanying them along to families in nearby villages of college having brick kilns,  when they have most members especially their children were kept their bodies without proper warm clothes.

 

Chairman PR Bansal appreciated the efforts of student committee and said that to help distribute clothing during this chilling winter will definitely help folks who need it most. It’s also a chance for our students to soak up the College’s mission of promoting service to the community.” CMD Om Prakash Aggarwal urged the NGOs and socio-cultural organizations of the society to stand beside the cold victims here for mitigating their sufferings caused by cold wave.
